Flyers Close Out Regular Season with a Win; Set Sights Semis

By: Charles Cozeolino '28

In a thrilling conclusion to the regular season, the Chaminade Flyers dominated Kellenberg in a decisive 59-30 win on January 31, showcasing their trademark defense and relentless team effort. The victory capped off an outstanding season and set the stage for a highly anticipated semifinal matchup against St. Dominic's on Saturday, February 8.

From the opening tip, the Flyers imposed their will on Kellenberg. Their defense stopped every offensive attempt, forcing turnovers and shutting down scoring opportunities. Offensively, Chaminade executed a disciplined, team-oriented approach that left little room for their opponents to be successful.

The offense moved with purpose. Passing was crisp, cuts were sharp, and the timing on each play was impeccable. Despite Kellenberg's attempts to keep pace, the Flyers maintained an ironclad grip on the game, dominating every quarter.

Lucas Dillon led all scorers with 16 points, also tallying five steals on the defensive side of the ball. Many other Flyers shined in the contest, with Drake Donaldson and Mason Gottsegen posting seven and six points, respectively.

This was a complete team effort from the Flyers, who ended their regular season with a marvelous win.

As the season transitions into the playoffs, all eyes turn to the upcoming semifinal clash against St. Dominic's. This matchup is expected to be a true test of the Flyers' resolve, as they will face a well-prepared opponent known for its aggressive play and disciplined defense.

The Flyers have built their season on a foundation of hard work and unyielding commitment. Each game has been a stepping stone towards this moment, and this performance against Kellenberg only reinforces their readiness to face any challenge. The upcoming semifinal is not just another game - it's an opportunity to prove that their season was built on excellence.

The Flyers have demonstrated time and again that their strength lies in unity. This will be an unforgettable postseason for the freshman, who will put their skills to the test in the semifinals next weekend at Kellenberg Memorial High School.
